TSS Academy strives to teach youth how to become skillful and effective soccer players by providing a professional and optimal learning environment. Our objective is to help players attain long term joy and success in the game.

On coaching, we believe...

• Coaching at the youth level must be about teaching. At TSS, we see ourselves as instructors.
• Coaching must be done with professionalism, enthusiasm and personality.
• Coaching must be focused on teaching detailed components of the game.

On development, we believe...

• Players need to develop all the TSS Layers of Learning in order to become a complete player.
• The better a young player becomes at the game, the more passion and joy he/she will derive from the game and vice-versa.
• Players learn at different rates and achieve different levels of success over time.
• A player’s confidence grows with knowledge, ability and hard work.
• Winning is not the most accurate measurement of success at the youth level. Success is better defined as advancing the skills and tactical intelligence of each player and having them execute these qualities in a game environment.
• Mistakes are a necessary part of learning. We focus on the individual player and encourage them to work through their mistakes.

On training environment, we believe...

• Effective training environments are ones that best re-create realistic game conditions.
• Playing small-sided games is critical to the development of young players.
• Players learn at different rates and achieve different levels of success over time.
• Players learn more effectively when tiered into training groups of like-skilled and like-minded players.
